Healthcare |

Hospitals:- Although healthcare is provided by Saudi government for it’s citizens expatriates are expected to provide their own and there is a multitude of privately run hospitals catering to this. Most companies provide health care at one of the major hospitals but insurance is advisable to all coming to the Kingdom. The standard of some of the hospitals is on a par with western service and provide all services. It is expected that in the near future all companies will have to provide health insurance for all employees. Clinics:- There are a multitude of clinics providing primary care and these should be covered by insurance as well. The best way to choose one is through personal recommendation from colleagues or friends and the majority provides GP’s, nursing services and dental care. Chemists:- All general pharmaceutical requirements are found in the chemists and many medicines only available on prescription in the west are freely available. Once again choice should be based on recommendation and an outlet with a qualified, and English speaking, pharmacist is worth a visit.
